  Meet Our Team

When you hire Event Engineering, you launch a dedicated team of professionals with over 20 years of local, national and international experience in staging, production, and labor management for entertainment, business, and broadcast. We work together cohesively, using well-established, proven systems to eliminate obstacles and create smooth, efficient project flow.

Our expertise is the result of a strong work ethic, professional commitment, and flexibility. We offer solid production legwork, responsive service and unparalleled attention to detail. You’ll benefit from our wide-ranging knowledge of the best personnel and latest technologies from the theater, concert, trade show, and broadcast arenas.

Our core team is composed of full-time employees, not freelancers. We have a vested interest in seeing your event succeed.

We’re also a lot of fun.

Floyd Dillman
Director of Operations

Floyd has been estimating and managing labor for over a decade at Event Engineering. A Caribiner-trained Technical Director who has traveled the world managing shows, Floyd knows what it takes—in people and hours—to make a show go on. He’s worn many hats during his twenty-five years in the meeting and entertainment business, managing production and staging on everything from rock concerts to high-profile corporate meetings to marketing events and television production at the Olympics and Super Bowl. He’s an expert labor budgeter, with high standards for accuracy and client service.

Floyd is a Chicago native, and his long-term relationships with local union leaders, vendors, and venues make him a highly valuable resource. He occasionally returns to production management with spectacles like the Grand Opening of INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium (home of the Denver Broncos), and the Gala Opening of Chicago’s new Millennium Park. If your show has a budget for fireworks and a hot music track, he’ll probably want to work on it.

John Doyle
Director - Labor Services

John joined Event Engineering at the end of 2005 to help us develop new accounts. He has more than 30 years of experience in the AV rental, broadcast, special event and tradeshow staging industries. John spent twenty-four years as VP of Operations for one of Chicago’s most successful AV rental and staging companies; he comes to us after his most recent stint as Director of Production Services for a leading video production company.

Liha Sayyed
Business Manager / Senior Production Coordinator

Liha is a natural problem solver; and as our Business Manager since 2001, Liha runs a tight ship. Her responsibilities include Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and accounting compliance. Payroll alone is no small order: Event Engineering employs a large and constantly varying number of local/national union/non-union employees. As Senior Production Coordinator, she budgets and books our freelance crews, works with labor management, and oversees all details of your labor arrangements to assure the success of your events; she is the primary contact for clients and crew on non-union shows.

Pam Weston
Production Coordinator

Pam joined the Event Engineering team in 2002 on a part-time basis, and came aboard full-time in 2006.  Her responsibilities include budgeting and booking our local and out of town freelance crews, and handling many of the Event team’s special projects.  She is also responsible for ordering and distributing the official Event Engineering team swag.
